The right sleeve pocket's zipper was usually positioned so it was about ½" from the front edge of the pocket.
The zipper height varied (of course!), but with this particular pocket there did actually seem to be a method to the madness!
The zipper appeared to be positioned such that its upper edge was about ½" from the top of the pocket, and its lower edge was about ½" from the bottom of the pocket.
In other words, the zipper height varied proportionately to the actual height of the pocket; for example, a 6" tall pocket would have a 5" zipper, a 7" tall pocket would have a 6" zipper, etc.

The right sleeve pocket's zipper was, of course, edge stitched around its perimeter.

Lastly, the right sleeve pocket was, as Data might say, "fully functional!"
