Analysis, part 17a - Left Thigh Pocket, Shape and Positioning

As mentioned previously, the right and left thigh pockets were similar, but not identical.

We'll begin our examination of the left thigh pocket with the characteristics it shared with its counterpart.

Like the right thigh pocket, the left thigh pocket was rectangular (trapezoidal for the ladies), and we already examined its vertical placement.

Also like the right thigh pocket, the centermost edge of the left thigh pocket vertically aligned with the centermost edges of the left chest pocket and waist straps.

Like the chest pockets and right thigh pocket, the outer/side edge of the light thigh pocket didn't extend all the way to the side seam.

However, unlike the right thigh pocket, the left thigh pocket on every uniform we examined (though admittedly not many, and with one exception) appeared to be positioned so its outermost edge was about ½" away from the jumpsuit's side seam.

The aforementioned exception to this "standard" (at this point, we're really quite wary to use the term "standard" for any characteristic of the ENT jumpsuit) was at least one of Hoshi's jumpsuits - probably an early one, judging by the fabric color:
