Analysis, part 7c - Division Stripes, Miters and Topstitching

The lower corners of the division stripes were mitered (similarly in style to the DS9/NEM jumpsuit neckline/front opening trim), but the miter didn't extend through the entire corner of the stripe! It extended from the upper corner almost (but not quite) to the lower corner.

It does appear, however, that occasionally the division stripes were "completely" mitered (that is, that the diagonal miter spanned the entire corner of the stripe); we only ever observed this on supporting/background uniforms, though!

As you may have noticed, the division stripes were topstitched/edge stitched in matching thread along their centermost and lower edges.

The division stripe topstitching was very difficult to see on screen, but sometimes it was plainly visible: 

ENT, 1x21 "Detained"
ENT, 2x19 "Judgment"


Note that the division stripe was secured to the jumpsuit only via the topstitching (which, for whatever it's worth, was done with a division-colored thread but jumpsuit-blue bobbin):
