Unsurprisingly, the actual length of the right chest pocket zipper varied considerably as well.
For instance, Reed's right chest pocket zipper was particularly short.

Travis' right chest pocket zipper was quite short as well (though not quite as short as Reed's):

Here, you can see that Reed's right chest pocket zipper was slightly shorter than Travis':

Naturally, the ladies' right chest pocket zippers tended to be on the short side:

Plenty of male zippers were short, though, as evidenced previously by Reed's and Travis', as well as these auction photos for male ENT jumpsuits:

However, both Travis and Hoshi had at least one uniform each that appeared to have slightly longer (what we would call "medium-length") zippers:

Captain Hernandez' and Commander Williams' right chest pocket zippers appeared to be "medium-length," too:

Trip's right chest pocket zipper was quite a bit longer than Reed's and Travis':

Other male ENT jumpsuits we came across in our research had longer zippers, as well:

By far the longest right chest pocket zipper we ever observed was, in fact, Archer's from the show's final season!

One might assume that the zipper length was proportionate to the wearer's physique; after all, the ladies' zippers were shorter, and Reed was not as large a man as Trip or Archer.
However, this is only a general standard, as Captain Hernandez was a fairly small woman and her zipper's length appeared to be in the same neighborhood as Commander Williams', who was a large beefy man - and both of them had zippers longer than Travis'!
One might also assume that the zipper length was determined by maintaining a consistent distance both from the pocket's centermost edge (about ¼") and the armscye (?) ... but this did not appear to be the case.
For instance, Reed's zipper appeared to extend to about 1" from the armscye:
|
ENT, 4x15 "Affliction" |
Trip's and Travis' zippers appeared to extend to about ¾" to 1" from the armscye:
|
ENT, 4x4 "Borderland" |

|

This ENT jumpsuit's right chest pocket zipper appeared to extend to about ½" from the armscye:

And this one's appeared to extent to a mere ¼" from the armscye:

Yet Archer's fourth season zipper appeared to extend practically all the way to the armscye - no more than a mere ⅛" or so from it!

So really, who knows?
Just compare Archer's zipper length with Travis' in the same shot ... and this was a regular occurrence ...

Regarding an ideal standard for the right chest pocket zipper length, we can only say, "Whatever you think looks best on you!"
