FABRIC:

* Blue denim = 6 yards

* Division-color cotton twill or cotton lycra = 1 yard

If you're using cotton lycra, we recommend stabilizing the division stripes with some lightweight fusible interfacing, as seems to have been done on the originals.

ACCESSORIES, NOTIONS, ETC.

* Zipper/piping foot for sewing machine

* 2 spools of blue thread

* 1 spool of division color thread

* 1 spool of light gray thread

* 13 black closed zippers (ideally metal, with black zipper teeth)

* 1 yard of 2" elastic

* ¼ yard black hook-and-loop tape

* 4 black ½" 4-hole buttons

* 1 pair of raglan shoulder pads

* 1 Starfleet assignment patch

* 1 set of rank pips or enlisted patch of your choice

OPTIONAL, BUT RECOMMENDED:

* Lightweight fusible interfacing for pocket zippers = 1 yard 

* ½" double-sided transparent fabric tape (preferably washable)

* ¼" double-sided fusible hem tape

* Liquid fray preventer

* Fabric spray adhesive

Also, a serger is HIGHLY recommended!
