Analysis, part 11c - Left Chest Pocket, Zipper Vertical Placement (men)

Unlike the right chest pocket zipper, which was horizontal and parallel to the upper edge of the pocket, the left chest pocket zipper was vertical and parallel to the centermost edge of the pocket.

That said, the actual placement of the zipper varied wildly.

I know, you're probably just like ...

There were two main points of reference regarding the placement of the left chest pocket zipper: the distance between the top of the pocket and the top of the zipper, and the zipper's distance from the centermost edge of the pocket.

Most left chest pocket zippers extended to about ½" beneath the top edge of the pocket.

That said, many ENT jumpsuits' left chest pocket zippers diverged quite a bit from this so-called "standard"; at least one of Archer's early jumpsuits had a left chest pocket zipper that extended almost all the way to the ¼" topstitch at the top of the pocket!

We spotted another of these in an auction listing, too.

Contrarily, the uniform "Lynsioux" photographed had a left chest pocket zipper that ended about ⅝" from the upper edge of the pocket:

At least one of Travis' (early) jumpsuit zippers seemed to be similarly positioned; compare his to Archer's - both seen in the same shot, no less!

Reed's left chest pocket zipper ended even lower; his looked to be ¾" to ⅞" from the upper edge of the pocket.

At least two other ENT jumpsuits had similarly positioned left chest pocket zippers:

Two male ENT jumpsuits we found in our research had extremely low left chest pocket zippers; they appear to have only extended to about 1 ½" and 2" from the upper edge of the pocket, respectively!
