Analysis, part 23 - Sleeve Hem

Oddly, the ENT jumpsuit sleeves were hemmed prior to the sleeve cuffs being attached, even though the sleeve cuffs would have actually enclosed the bottom raw edges of the sleeves.

The sleeves were hemmed in a similar manner to the way khaki pants and blue jeans are today: simply folding the hem allowance upward and sewing it into place along both layers.

That said - get ready for a shocker - the hem allowance varied quite a bit!

Most ENT jumpsuit sleeves' hem allowances appeared to be about 1".

Sometimes the sleeve hem allowance was smaller, such as on one of Trip's ENT jumpsuits (about ½"):

The above Trip example was particularly odd, considering his sleeve hem allowance was usually about 1":

Sometimes the sleeve hem allowance appeared to be about ¾":

Sometimes it appeared to be slightly more than the usual-ish 1":

Hoshi's sleeve hem allowance appeared to be in the neighborhood of 1 ½" to 2":

Oddly, (at least?) one of Archer's ENT jumpsuits had a comparable sleeve hem allowance to Hoshi's, even though his was normally about 1":

The largest sleeve hem allowance we observed was Captain Hernandez's, which appeared to be at least 2":
