Analysis, part 28a - "Hero" Zipper Pulls, Construction and Appearance

The actual zipper pulls on the ENT jumpsuit zippers did not have the typical off-the-shelf zipper pulls seen on regular, sports, or invisible zippers; they appear to have been custom-made for the show.

The "hero" zipper pulls appeared to be two separate pieces; the pull itself appeared to be welded or glued to a separate supporting clasp.

The clasp had an opening that was presumably looped through the zipper hole and closed with pliers:

If you looked very, very carefully (and had nothing better to do), the clasp openings were occasionally visible on screen, especially when they were slightly bent out of place:

The "hero" zipper pulls often looked black in publicity photos, too:

Also note that the "hero" zipper pulls on the screen-used Travis Mayweather uniform the STPCAA photographed and shared all looked undeniably black:

However, other times, the "hero" zipper pulls looked unquestionably copper/bronze-ish:

The "hero" zipper pulls may have actually been copper (as opposed to painted resin); observe what appears to be lime-green rust on some of the pulls:

Also consider that these copper-ish zipper pulls, under certain lighting, might actually appear to be black(ish), as evidenced by the copper-ish zipper pull in the photo below "Lynsioux" shared:

So, as with the waist strap buttons, who knows what the ideal screen-accurate standard for a replica is with the "hero" zipper pull colors?

Perhaps they were copper pulls painted black, perhaps they were painted copper THEN painted black, perhaps some were copper and some were black ...

For whatever it's worth, we prefer the "hero" zipper pulls to be black, since that's how they looked on screen.
