Analysis, part 5 - Center Back Seam

The back of the jumpsuit was also two panels, sewn together at the center back.

The center back seam allowances were pressed to the left, and the seam was edge stitched on the left of the center back seam (securing the seam allowances).

This was probably to reinforce the back seam since it would be stressed in situations when the wearer would be crouching.

The VOY jumpsuits and DS9/NEM jumpsuits provided additional wearing ease via the back action pleats, but the ENT jumpsuits didn't have these so the seam was reinforced.

Here you can clearly see the center back seam and the reinforcement edge stitch:

The reinforcement edge stitch continued past the back elastic waistband, presumably all the way down to the crotch seam/inseam intersection.

Here are some photos of the inside back of the ENT jumpsuits, in which you can clearly see the center back seam allowances pressed to the left.
